I’m not sure what it is about LED arrays that I find so appealing, but I’m sure glad there’s a place in the world for a collective that does just thatUVA have updated Dan Flavin’s trademark fluorescent-tube minimalism to the 21st century,  creating interactive lighting installations around the world.  The picture above is from one of their more recent projects at Chuya Museum, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan.  But you don’t have to go to a gallery to see UVA in action; they’ve designed custom light installations for Massive Attack, the Chemical Brothers, and U2.

Pictures can only show you much.  You need to check out the video for “Tonto” by Battles to see their work really shine (pun intended).
