While EVOL might not have the same recognition as an artist like Banksy, he wields the stencil with just as much flair. His work falls into two categories: incredibly simple, or exceedingly complex. While the latter is interesting in its own right, using no less than six stencils to produce the piece illustrated above (on cardboard!!!), it’s his simple ideas that really shine.
See what I mean after the break.
Take, for example, his ongoing project simply called Buildings where he stencils an array of windows onto grey, rectangular objects to create miniature, makeshift apartment complexes.
The idea itself is simple, but brilliantly executed. He’s even conscripted other graffiti and street artists to tag his buildings to scale. The results are pretty awesome, and surprisingly real looking.
